SC News Bot — Star Citizen news for Fluxer

Get started in 2 steps

Add the bot to your server Click Add to Fluxer Server above and select your community. The bot needs Manage Webhooks and Send Messages permissions to function.

Register your news channel In the channel you want news delivered to, type !sc setchannel. The bot sets everything up automatically and confirms which feeds are active.

Restrict command access The bot responds to anyone who can send messages in the channel. To limit who can run commands, restrict Send Messages in that channel to admins or mods via Fluxer's channel permissions.

Toggle any feed with !sc set <feed> on|off — changes take effect immediately, no restart needed.

Access is controlled by who can send messages in the channel — restrict it via Fluxer's channel permissions to limit command usage to admins or mods.

How it works

TrackerSC → email → Zoho IMAP inbox
                              ↓
                    Bot (IMAP IDLE listener)
                              ↓
                       Parse email content
                              ↓
             POST to Fluxer channel webhooks

RSI Status RSS → Bot (polls every 5 min) → Fluxer

The bot subscribes to TrackerSC email notifications rather than scraping RSI directly. TrackerSC monitors the RSI website and sends structured alerts — the bot forwards them to your channels typically within 2–5 seconds of the original RSI post. RSI platform status is sourced directly from the RSI status page.
